Phone Consultation
The Design Build experience with The Gentleman Builder begins with the first phone contact with our receptionist. During the initial phone consultation, we will be asking for contact information and your preliminary ideas for your home improvement project. If you are not familiar with our company, we will share this information with you. An appointment to meet you at your project site should be set up at this time.
Project Site Visit
Theon-site consultation begins with our Renovation Consultant meeting with you at your home or project site to discuss your home renovation goals for the space and how you want to add or modify your property. Understanding your needs as well as gaining a feel for how you want your home to function and look is our goal. We will be gathering information to create solutions that are functional, aesthetically pleasing and within your budget.
Project Cost Range
Your Renovation Consultant will create a Home Improvement Project Cost Range derived from the information gathered during the site consultation. The Home Improvement Cost Range reflects the actual cost of your project based on the information you provided and considers local building standards and specifications.
Plan Commitment
Once you have approved the Home Improvement Project Cost Range we will move towards Plan Commitment. The cost of the Plan Commitment is a 6% fee of the median project cost range. The Plan Commitment allows for a complete design service and project cost detail. This work is paid in two installments. Half the fee is due upon execution of the Home Improvement Plan Commitment. The balance of 50% is due upon completion of the architectural design and project cost detail.
Design and Selections
Your Renovation Consultant will coordinate the designing of your new project with our residential designer. Selection of all the products that go into your project will be completed by our design staff. Ultimately, you will approve your construction documents, product selections and scope of work. Your Renovation Consultant will work diligently to keep your design, selections and scope within the range of the Home Improvement Plan Commitment.
