Michael Stein is the founder, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Gentleman Builder, located in Bonita, Springs Florida Michael has over twenty-seven years experience in the home building and real estate development business and is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the home improvement analysis, remodeling and new home businesses. Michael is a licensed Certified General Contractor in Florida.
Originally from West Orange, New Jersey Michael moved to Yellow Springs, Ohio to attend Antioch College Michael received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science in 1977 and was a private high school teacher and sports coach in Washington, D.C. for three years. Michael began his building career working as an Assistant Superintendent with Ryland Homes in northern Virginia. After running a local home building company for several years in Ambler, Pennsylvania and subsequently working for Toll Brothers in their national headquarters office in Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania, Michael and his family moved to Naples in pursuit of creating his own home building company. Living in Naples since 1999 Michael has spearheaded home building projects in several Naples communities, building hundreds of homes during the last ten years and earning multiple design and business awards along the way. His largest new home project was Forest Park, a community of 318 homes and the recipient of Community of the Year and multiple design and construction awards.
Michael has the unique perspective of a construction expert who has purchased, developed, built and sold millions of dollars of real estate. As an owner building for his own account, Michael recognizes first the value of buildings as they relate to cost, location, features, and quality. With the ability to put this experience to work for you, Michael aims to provide customers with a superior understanding of their homes performance as well as the most cost effective solutions when building a new home.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys outdoor pursuits in Southwest Florida. You also might find Michael competing on the tennis court!
